- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the cookies while they are still slightly warm.
Notes
- For a stronger peppermint flavor, add more peppermint extract.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
