Description
Tender brisket cooked in a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 3 lb beef brisket
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the brisket.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear brisket on all sides until browned.
- Place sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place seared brisket on top of the onion and garlic.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours, until brisket is tender.
- Remove brisket from slow cooker and let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of liquid smoke to the sauce.
- If the sauce is too thin, you can thicken it by whisking in a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with two tablespoons of cold water during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
