A flavorful rice dish with shrimp, sausage, and Cajun spices.
Ingredients

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound smoked sausage, diced
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sausage and cook until browned.
- Add bell pepper and onion and cook until softened.
- Add garlic, Cajun seasoning, and black pepper and cook for 1 minute.
- Add rice and stir to coat.
- Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, or until rice is cooked through.
- Add shrimp and cook until pink.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- You can substitute other types of sausage, such as andouille or Italian sausage.
