A quick and easy recipe for perfectly seared ahi tuna steaks.
Ingredients

- 2 ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the tuna steaks evenly with the oil mixture.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer for your desired doneness.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for a minute.
- Slice and serve immediately. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For best results, use sushi-grade tuna.
- Do not overcook the tuna, as it can become dry.
- Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, or your favorite dipping sauce.
