Description
A simple recipe for making butter chicken at home.
Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and ginger-garlic paste for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- Add garam masala, red chili powder, and turmeric powder. Sauté for a minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until it is cooked through.
- Stir in heavy cream and butter. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red chili powder to your preference.
- For a richer flavor, use homemade ginger-garlic paste.
