Description

Easy and delicious pecan pie bars, perfect for holidays and gatherings. A simple recipe from our family to yours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  6. In another bowl, combine the pecan halves, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Mix well.
  7. Spoon the pecan mixture evenly over the batter in the pan.
  8. Dollop the remaining batter over the pecan mixture, spreading it gently to cover as much as possible.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  10. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can toast the pecans lightly before adding them to the filling.
  • Ensure the bars are completely cool before cutting to prevent them from crumbling.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
