Description
A rustic, free-form tart featuring sweet pears and tart apples with a hint of caramel.
Ingredients

							Scale

 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
 - 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
 - 2 small apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 - 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
 - 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - In a large bowl, gently toss the sliced pears and apples with granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated.
 - Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto the prepared baking sheet.
 - Arrange the fruit mixture in the center of the pastry, leaving a 2-inch border. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the fruit.
 - Fold the pastry border up and over the edges of the fruit, pleating as needed to create a rustic edge.
 - Brush the folded pastry border with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
 - Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the fruit is tender.
 - Let the galette cool on the baking sheet for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
 - You can add a pinch of salt to the fruit mixture to enhance the flavors.
 - If you don’t have puff pastry, a pie crust can be used.
