Description

Classic sugar cookies perfect for holidays or any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Gradually blend in the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
  5. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
  7. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
