Description

Classic French macarons recipe.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Filling of your choice

Instructions

  1. Combine almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  2. Whisk egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into egg whites.
  5. Add food coloring if desired.
  6. Pipe batter onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Let macarons rest for 30-60 minutes.
  8. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely before filling.
