- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Filling of your choice
Instructions
- Combine almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- Whisk egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add granulated sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form.
- Fold dry ingredients into egg whites.
- Add food coloring if desired.
- Pipe batter onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let macarons rest for 30-60 minutes.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12-15 minutes.
- Let cool completely before filling.
