Description

A simple and quick bread recipe.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  5. Shape into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Add raisins or caraway seeds for extra flavor.
  • Serve warm with butter.
