Rich chocolate cake with a warm, molten center.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat until smooth.
- Stir in 4 ounces of chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out clean, but the center is still slightly soft.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Invert cake onto a serving plate.
- Melt the remaining 2 ounces of chocolate chips and drizzle over the cake.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
