Description

A hearty and simple casserole made with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups diced cooked potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the diced cooked potatoes and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can use leftover mashed potatoes if you have them.
  • For a different flavor, try using cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom.
  • Add a layer of cooked green beans or peas for extra vegetables.
