Halloween Monster Brownies

Description

Easy and festive Halloween monster brownies perfect for a family treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (18.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup green candy melts
  • 1/4 cup black decorating icing
  • Assorted candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until just combined.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  7. Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares.
  8. Melt the green candy melts according to package directions.
  9. Dip the top of each brownie into the melted green candy melts, letting excess drip off. Place on a wire rack to set.
  10. Once the candy melts are set, use the black decorating icing to draw a mouth on each monster brownie.
  11. Press two candy eyes onto each brownie above the mouth.
  12. Allow the icing to set before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use a dark chocolate cake mix.
  • You can substitute any color candy melts for the green.
