Description

A grilled cheese sandwich with French dip flavors.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups beef broth, heated

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place 4 slices of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Top each with 2 slices of provolone cheese and 1/4 pound of roast beef.
  4. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  5. Grill until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  6. Serve immediately with hot beef broth for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use other types of cheese, such as Swiss or Gruyere.
  • For a richer flavor, use a combination of butter and olive oil.
