Description

Simple shepherd’s pie casserole recipe.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can mixed vegetables, drained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder to the meat mixture.
  • You can use leftover mashed potatoes for this recipe.
  • Feel free to substitute other vegetables, such as peas or carrots.
