Description

Tender steak bites cooked in a crockpot.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Sear steak cubes in olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Transfer steak to the crockpot.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the crockpot.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Pour over the steak.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  7. Stir the slurry into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  8. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, increase the amount of cornstarch slurry.
  • Add vegetables like carrots or potatoes to the crockpot for a complete meal.
