Description

Tender steak bites cooked in a crockpot.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the steak bites in batches and transfer to the crockpot.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Pour beef broth, soy sauce, and brown sugar over the steak bites in the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the steak is tender.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  6. Pour the slurry into the crockpot and stir to combine.
  7. Cook on high for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  8. Serve hot.
