Slow-cooked chicken in a bourbon-infused sauce.
Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and sesame oil.
- Pour sauce over chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Stir cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened.
- Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, increase cornstarch slurry.
- Serve immediately.
