Description

Slow-cooked chicken in a bourbon-infused sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in a slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and sesame oil.
  3. Pour sauce over chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
  6. Stir cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened.
  8. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, increase cornstarch slurry.
  • Serve immediately.
