Description
Chicken wonton tacos with a sweet teriyaki glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- Oil, for frying
- Toppings: shredded lettuce, sesame seeds, green onions
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground chicken over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic powder to the skillet. Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place wonton wrappers in the hot oil, one at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Gently fold the wonton in half immediately after frying to create a taco shape.
- Fill each crispy wonton taco with the chicken mixture.
- Top with shredded lettuce, sesame seeds, and green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of brown sugar to suit your sweetness preference.
- For extra flavor, marinate the ground chicken in the soy sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
