Chicken wonton tacos with a sweet teriyaki glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • Oil, for frying
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce, sesame seeds, green onions

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground chicken over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic powder to the skillet. Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully place wonton wrappers in the hot oil, one at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Gently fold the wonton in half immediately after frying to create a taco shape.
  5. Fill each crispy wonton taco with the chicken mixture.
  6. Top with shredded lettuce, sesame seeds, and green onions. Serve immediately.

  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar to suit your sweetness preference.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the ground chicken in the soy sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
