- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- Ingredients for cake mix (eggs, oil, water)
- Green food coloring
- 1 can vanilla frosting
- 1 tube red decorating frosting
- Assorted small candies (sprinkles, dragees)
- Cupcake liners
Instructions
- Prepare the cake batter according to the box directions.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl and mix until evenly colored.
- Fill cupcake liners halfway with alternating spoonfuls of green and white batter.
- Bake according to cake mix directions. Let cool completely.
- Frost each cupcake with green frosting, swirling it to create a tree shape.
- Decorate the ‘trees’ with red frosting ‘ornaments’ and assorted candies.
Notes
- You can use a star tip for piping the frosting to create a more realistic tree texture.
- Store decorated cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature.
