Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons chai spice blend (or 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp cardamom, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/8 tsp cloves)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and chai spice blend.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar once cooled.
