Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season beef cubes with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown beef cubes in batches and set aside.
- Add onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Return beef to the skillet and simmer until the gravy has thickened and the beef is tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef tips for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can substitute other types of mushrooms, such as shiitake or oyster mushrooms.
- If the gravy is too thick, add a little more beef broth to reach your desired consistency.
