Description

Easy and flavorful slow cooker BBQ chicken recipe.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot on buns or with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts.
