Description

Warm and cheesy Italian sub sandwiches baked in the oven.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread, sliced horizontally
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 8 ounces sliced ham
  • 8 ounces sliced salami
  • 8 ounces sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced banana peppers
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the bread and Italian dressing on the bottom half.
  3. Layer ham, salami, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the bread.
  4. Top with banana peppers, red onion, and lettuce.
  5. Place the top half of the bread over the fillings.
  6. Cut into individual sandwiches.
  7. Wrap each sandwich in foil.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is warm.

Notes

  • For a crispier sandwich, unwrap the foil during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Add other toppings as you like, such as tomatoes, pickles, or mustard.
