Description

Quick and easy Asian-inspired ground beef lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 head lettuce, separated into leaves
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions, sriracha

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Spoon the ground beef mixture into lettuce leaves.
  6. Add desired toppings.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, reduce or omit the red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
  • Serve with a side of steamed rice.
