Description

A simple recipe for delicious apple turnovers, perfect for a fall dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.
  3. Cut each puff pastry sheet in half to create four rectangles.
  4. Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  6. Place turnovers on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
